MADAGASCAR

Off the east coast of Africa, Madagascar is home to about 20 million people.

Madagascar is nothing like the movie!

The beautiful forest that you see in the movie now only covers a very small percentage of the south of the country because most of it has been cleared for farming.

Due to plenty of government corruption, the gap between the wealthy minority and the very poor majority is huge. This puts Madagascar amongst the poorest countries in the world.

My good friend who has travelled to every continent throughout his business life commented that Madagascar is the most impoverished nation he has seen. He has commenced charity work there training people in microbusiness to help the locals extract themselves and their families from the cycle of poverty.
