Tim and family are sharing the love.

We are aware that 90 per cent of the planet don’t share the lifestyle and opportunities that we enjoy. So we are doing something about it! My family and I are going to Mauritius and Madagascar for 2017 to do humanitarian and health work.

As I thought about the Geelong therapists I really trust, and who to recommend to my patients, I had an original idea! I would not only refer my patients to my most trusted practitioners, I would invite them to join in the cause!

Allied Health Movement is born.

It was no surprise to me that as I spoke to my preferred therapists they all said ‘Yes!’ This is because they are solid, trustworthy people – not just great therapists. Click here to check out my recommended therapists, by name, for 2017.

Here is what we are doing.

These practitioners as Allied Health Movement will help sponsor me (as a Myotherapist) and my wife Eleisha (Nurse) to volunteer in an existing medical clinic in a village in Madagascar and establish new medical work in Mauritius.

So my original idea has paved the way for something bigger: Allied Health Movement will not only support the 2017 cause but more projects in developing nations over the years to come.

A word from Tim and Eleisha.

In 2016 we went at our own expense to survey need in Mauritius and Madagascar. Throughout 2017 we will go back to set up something more enduring.

In Mauritius we will research the viability of an allied health clinic that may, in the future, host visiting volunteer therapists from around the world who wish to serve.

In Madagascar, other Geelong business friends have commenced a charity to help people in poverty. This young organisation has already trained hundreds of individuals in microbusiness skills in order to help them lift themselves out of the poverty cycle.

The same charity has also built a medical clinic just this year in a small village. This medical centre has seen children born under medical supervision for the first time ever!

It is a privilege to partner with trusted Geelong allied health professionals and make a difference on the other side of the planet. We will update you with a few posts over the year.
